We collect information about you when you register on one of our websites. This registration information may include, but is not limited to your:
e-mail address
full name
mailing address

date of birth
gender

When you complete a registration or offer form that is hosted by one of our website publisher partners on our behalf, the website publisher partner may submit all or a portion of the information that you submitted on the form to the Company. This information may include, but is not limited to: your IP address, e-mail address, name, mailing address, telephone number, date of birth, gender, and payment information; information about your background, interests, health, education, career goals, and shopping preferences; and any other information you provide to our website publisher partner.

Marketing Partners
We may receive information about you, including but not limited to your IP address, e-mail address, first name, last name, mailing address, and telephone number, from third party marketing partners that provide us with consumer data to manage on their behalf.

Automatic Information/Digital Identifiers
We may automatically receive and store certain types of information about you through the data sources listed above.

You may be familiar with the term "cookies," which are unique alphanumeric identifiers that store information on your computer. A cookie is placed on your computer when your web browser accesses our website. We use cookies for tracking transactions and the user characteristics explained in detail throughout this Privacy Policy. If you choose, there are utilities available for purchase from independent software providers to install on your computer as well as tools/preferences you can choose through most web browsers to make website visits anonymous. Of course, cookies let you have a more satisfying website experience, so we recommend that you leave them turned on.

We also collect information through our web server applications. This information includes your Internet Protocol or "IP" address, date/time stamp, browser type, and referring URL.

Additionally, we may use pixel tracking technology to track the completion of transactions with us or our advertisers, the source information for those transactions, and your IP address, date/time stamp, browser type, and referring URL.

Government Forms
The Company may be required to create, collect, maintain, and submit certain information required by the government, such as IRS Forms W-9 and 1099. This information, which may include your taxpayer identification number, will not be used, shared, transferred, or sold for marketing purposes.

HOW DO WE USE THIS INFORMATION?
We may use the collected PII and Non-PII for any legally permissible purpose in our sole discretion, including but not limited to those explained below.

Ad Serving
We may serve advertisements to you based, in part, on your IP address, the demographic and geographic information you submitted to the Company during the website registration process, and other socio-economic information, psychographic information, Internet behavior (i.e., browsing, search, shopping, purchase, and ad response behavior), and lifestyle information about you that we obtain from affiliated entities and from third parties.

We allow third-party companies to serve ads and/or collect certain anonymous information when you visit our Web site. These companies may use non-personally identifiable information (e.g., click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over) during your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. These companies typically use a cookie or third party web beacon to collect this information. To learn more about this behavioral advertising practice or to opt-out of this type of advertising, you can visit www.networkadvertising.org.

Pre-select/Pre-fill Offers
Our website technology may pre-select certain offers for you to view based on the demographic and geographic information you submitted to the Company during the website registration process. Additionally, this technology may pre-fill some or all of the offers' data fields with the information you submitted during the website registration process in order to prevent you from having to re-enter this information. We may not show all of the pre-filled data fields to you.

Upsell
We utilize customized post transactional or "upsell" technology to help advertisers generate sales, while providing you with a series of great offers we think may be of interest to you. The way it works is simple: once you purchase a product or service from one of our reward advertisers, you will be offered additional products or services that we think may be of interest to you. If you elect to purchase products or services from an advertiser in the post transactional channel, we will pass the information that you provided during the initial transaction to the subsequent advertiser, including but not limited to your credit card information. This information pass is done to enhance and simplify your purchasing experience. Your information will only be passed to an advertiser in the post transactional channel after you have elected to purchase their product or service. By electing to purchase their product or service you consent to the passing of your data to the third party advertiser in question.

Customer Service and Fulfillment
We may use your information to operate the website promotion, service your account and to fulfill rewards earned through Company websites. We may also use your information to verify your identity or claimed account status and, where we consider appropriate, investigate your compliance with the terms and conditions of the website promotion or any advertiser offer. We do retain customer service correspondence.

Credit Card Preauthorization
By submitting your credit card information to us or to one of our advertisers, you are authorizing the Company or its agent to periodically verify that your credit card account is valid and has credit available by charging, and thereafter crediting, a small sum to the card.

Marketing
We may use your information in our online (e.g., e-mail marketing) and offline (e.g., telemarketing, cell phone text messaging, skip tracing, and direct mail) marketing programs. If you would like to be removed from these programs please write to us.

Dessert Nachos with Strawberry, Mango and Avocado Salsa

Fruit-Salsa-Nachos-FoodieCrush.com-013-Edit

This is the thing I like about nachos. If you agree, you’re invited to the party. If you don’t, I’ll be the first to pass along an elementary-style lunch tray to ensure all of your primary food groups stay at arm’s length of one another.

Nachos. They’re layers upon layers of my favorite tastes. A little bit of salt, a lot of spice, maybe a little bit of protein—if I’m feeling the urge to act like a well-rounded adult—all blanketed in cheese, aka the glue that melds this flavor bomb together.

Last week I asked my friends on Facebook for help on what recipe they wanted to see this week: spring pasta or salsa? By the looks of today’s post I think you can see which dish came out as the clear winner.

The confirmation that this recipe was the clear winner came from my Smudge who declared it would had judiciously been added to her birthday party menu. This is serious stuff folks. Maybe it received this exclusive validation because she had become invested in the recipe as my scribe, studiously practicing her cursive skills as I dictated the ingredients and portions. By the way, I DO know there is no “t” in avocado. Most of the time. Can you even tell the difference between my handwriting and a 3rd graders? Aye—yi—yi. Scary.

Cinco de Mayo is on the calendar for this weekend’s celebrations replete with menus full of chunky guacamole, tacos (you gotta try this fried avocado version), enchiladas and a serious round of salsa. I thought about adding to the Mexican madness by recreating a standard savory affair, but headed off on a bender, pointed South and conquered the sweeter side of the border, thanks to mangos in my refrigerator in dire need of a destination resulting in this Mango, Strawberry and Avocado Salsa.

But I couldn’t just leave you, or the salsa, hanging about with no buddies to blend with. This salsa needs a date. A pairing to do the latin tango with. To keep it in tune as “la cucaracha” breaks out in song after that celebratory tequila shot. Or four. I’ll take Lime and salt with mine, and the salsa will too, please.

Cut to this: Fresh tostada chips sweetened with cinnamon sugar and baked to a golden crisp. A smattering of creamy, melted Monterey Jack cheese. With citrus spiked fruit kicked up with jalapeño heat. Cinco de Mayo celebratin’. It doesn’t take much more than that. Well, besides a trusty sombrero and some fine dipping skills.

Wing it! Try one of these recipe adaptations or add one of your own. Tell us your idea in the comments below.

1. This is one of those recipes that can be so easily adapted and given a heartier protein punch by simply adding a handful of grocery store rotisserie chicken chicken, turning it into a quick weeknight main mealio.

2. Mango and spice go oh so nice atop a freshly grilled piece of halibut, salmon or any Hawaiian fish. Blacken the fish with creole seasonings to really emphasize the contrasting sweetness of the bright fruit flavors.

3. I can see this as a bruschetta topping, perfect as an appetizer. Cut a few slices of baguette, drizzle with olive oil and toast in the toaster oven for a few minutes. Spread with a creamy brie cheese if you’re looking for savory, a bit of mascarpone if you’re sticking with sweet, and top with the salsa and serve with a tequila spiked lemonade.

Dessert Nachos with Strawberry, Mango and Avocado SalsaDessert Nachos with Strawberry, Mango and Avocado Salsa

Ingredients

For the Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips 10-12 4-inch white corn tortillas For the Mango, Strawberry and Avocado Salsa 1 1/2 cups mango, cut into a large dice 1/2 cup strawberries, cut into a large dice 1/2 cup avocados, cut into a large dice 1 red jalapeño, seeded, deveined and minced 2 tablespoons cilantro, slivered 2 limes, juiced (about 1/4 cup) 8 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese Mango, Strawberry and Avocado SalsaInstructions

For the Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside. Stack 3-4 white corn tortillas and cut in half with a sharp knife, then cut the halves into thirds so you end up with 6 triangle shaped chips per tortilla and place on a baking sheet lined with foil. Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave set on high for 20 seconds. Brush the tortilla chips with the butter and sprinkle each with a generous amount of the cinnamon sugar. Toast a toaster oven until golden and let cool, repeating until all of the chips have been toasted. Set aside. For the Mango, Strawberry and Avocado Salsa Mix all of the ingredients up to the cilantro in a medium size bowl. Heat the lime juice and honey in the microwave in a microwave save bowl for 15 seconds and then whisk to combine. After it has cooled, add 2 tablespoons to salsa and gently fold to combine. Add more honey lime juice to taste. Place a layer of Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips on a heat proof plate then top with a handful of shredded cheese, then a few spoonfuls of salsa, top with more tortilla chips and repeat 2 or more times ending with cheese. Place in a toaster or regular oven and broil for 3-5 minutes until cheese melts. Top with more salsa and serve hot.http://www.foodiecrush.com/2013/04/dessert-nachos-with-strawberry-mango-and-avocado-salsa/

Strawberry Bruschetta Grilled Cheese and Friday Faves

Strawberry Bruschetta Grilled Cheese | FoodieCrush.com

It was that sock that sat right in the middle of the floor for over a week. And her flip-flops that were haphazardly strewn about the living room along with a pile of papers and markers and other 8 year old stuff. And the pile of yet to be cleaned paint brushes sitting on the counter after my husband deposited them, left to languish next to the pile of clean towels that never seemed to get put away.

The little annoyances that last week gave me prickly heat every time I saw them, melted to the background after several national events reminded me that life as we know it can change in an instant.

I’m just grateful I get to once again have this gentle nudge to not take “stuff” so seriously. It is, afterall, just stuff.

Strawberry Bruschetta Grilled Cheese | FoodieCrush.com

Strawberry Bruschetta Grilled Cheese | FoodieCrush.com

As I show you my favorite recipes or share the latest shoes I covet, I don’t want to be insensitive—or on the flip side too melancholy—to events beyond our control. I think it’s important to remember that while we’re all affected by national circumstances, and while saddened or frustrated by them, we must also learn something from them. So I’m working on learning to turn a blind eye to MY issues with what gets my dander up, and be thankful I have loved ones to contribute to my self-induced peeves.

Yesterday I asked Facebook what you were craving to continue my Grilled Cheese Month Friday recipes: Savory or sweet? While the savory side seemed to weigh in pretty heavy, there were a fair number of you in the sweet camp as well. So I made a compromise: Let’s do a savory AND sweet grilled cheese this week. And here she is.

I present…Strawberry Bruschetta Grilled Cheese.

Strawberry Bruschetta Grilled Cheese | FoodieCrush.com

Strawberry Bruschetta Grilled Cheese | FoodieCrush.com

You’ve seen fruit bruschettas before (I made one for Maria’s baby shower) and you’re seen strawberry grilled cheese sandwiches. So what’s different about this one? Here’s the difference: A little olive oil, a little aged balsamic, plenty of fresh basil melted into soft, creamy brie—with just a touch of a bite—on thinly sliced baguette and toasted just right.

You can see how the melt factor can sort of get away from you with that sandwich on the middle, oozing effusively. Oh, it tastes good.

If you aren’t a fan of brie, or are looking for something sweeter for a breakfast griller, substitute the brie for mascarpone or provolone. Or a combo of the two.

So there you have it. A little sweet for some of you, a little savory for most of you. And a flavorfilled grilled cheese for me. It’s going to be a great weekend, I can tell.

Strawberry Bruschetta Grilled CheeseStrawberry Bruschetta Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

8 thinly sliced pieces of sourdough baguette 4 large strawberries, chopped (about 1 cup) 4 large basil leaves, slivered 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil Instructions

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread, then flip the bread buttered side down and repeat with the other 6 slices. Add the chopped strawberries to a small bowl, sprinkle with the basil leaves and dress with the extra virgin olive and balsamic vinegar. Mix gently then top with lemon zest and season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Slice the brie and spread on unbuttered sides of the bread. Spoon a generous amount of the strawberry mixture on 4 pieces of the brie topped bread. Place the strawberry stacked bread, buttered side down, in a non-stick fry pan over medium-high heat and top with the other slice of buttered bread. Cover with lid and let cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden. Reduce heat to medium and flip sandwich to the other side and cook for 2-3 minutes or until bread is toasty golden and the cheese has melted. The second side will cook faster than the first so watch carefully. Repeat process with the other sandwich ingredients to make the rest of the grilled cheese sandwiches. Enjoy hot.http://www.foodiecrush.com/2013/04/strawberry-bruschetta-grilled-cheese/Happy Friday Faves everyone. I’ll be coaching Smudge’s soccer game, digging up some dirt in the yard (fingers crossed) and getting a jump on next week’s to-do list since I’ll be heading to Temecula for The Traveling Big Summer Potluck. Will you be there too?

If you missed yesterday’s giveaway, here’s the link to enter. Good luck!

1. After a week of senseless tragedies and senate decisions influenced by the lure of money rather than by the wants of the people they represent, I for one could use a little more happy. Thanks to Amy’s share yesterday via Twitter, this has done the trick. Hey, I sing 80’s songs in the car too, so why do they sound so much better than me? Oh, and yes, he’s playing the keyboards on his iPad. Nice. * New band crush *

Yee Haw Pickles

2. If I said it once I’ll say it again, I’m a sucker for packaging. Almost as much as I’m a sucker for good pickles. Luckily Yee-Haw Pickles have both things in common. And they’re local. And I now have 3 bottles in my fridge. And I’m a happy pickle-eater.

Clarisonic-Mia-2-Fresh-New-Shades-for-Spring-Peony-Coral-Mango

3. I had my first experience with the Clarisonic when I had a facial at Tucson’s Ritz Carlton Spa where we celebrated my mom’s birthday. I came out my facial with the skin of a 3 year old. Okay, add 35, or maybe more, years to that and we’ll be good. The Clarisonic was a revelation, and lucky me I now have one of my own, and hellllooo, it comes in orange!. As a product hoarder, I’ve decided their cleansing gel is my new fave. With this kind of glowing skin people might start to think I’m pregnant. I’m not.

Voting ends tonight so don’t wait don’t waste another minute to uncover some fabulous new food discoveries of your own and make sure you cast a ballot in their favor. It is an honor to be nominated indeed. Winners announced Tuesday, April 23.

5. I’m getting into doing more video (stay tuned next Tuesday for my newest attempt) and so I love catching up on blogs with video added to their site in fun ways. Aube of Kitchen Vignettes does it exceptionally well. Which is probably why she is the Savuer.com 2012 winner of Best Video Blog and is nominated again this year. I could spend all day being teleported to her kitchen.

Strawberry Sweet Rolls with Vanilla Cream Cheese Glaze

by Averie Sunshine on May 15, 2013

I had been wanting to make a fruit-based sweet roll for awhile and so I went for it.

They were my Mother’s Day present to myself.

Strawberry Sweet Rolls with Vanilla Cream Cheese Glaze averiecooks.com

Sweet rolls, filled with jam, and topped with a vanilla cream cheese glaze is my idea of a happy Sunday morning. Especially since I started them the night before and built in a make-ahead/overnight option for anyone who doesn’t relish getting up at 5am to start baking.

I’ve had my eye on the Food and Wine Raspberry Swirl Sweet Rolls, but it makes a huge batch. Nice as it sounds, we don’t want or need a sheet-pan full of jelly rolls for our little family of three. So I came up with these.

Like I did in the recent Soft and Chewy Coconut Milk Bread, I used coconut milk in this dough. I had a partially open can and thought it would be a nice complement with the fruity filling.

However, I couldn’t taste any hint of coconut in the finished rolls. Bummer for me since I was hoping I would, but a blessing for anyone who’s not into coconut. I’m going to try buttermilk next time.

I used oil rather than butter because I’ve found that oil tends to produce softer bread than butter, which I find creates crustier bread. Case in point is this Challah. It’s so soft and tender that it’s croissant-like and was made with oil.

But don’t worry, after the initial two hour rise and I rolled out the dough, I added a nice smear of butter before rolling it up. Oil in the dough, butter on the dough. A win-win.

After buttering it, I generously spread about one cup strawberry preserves over the top. In the rolling process, lots of jam escaped and it seemed like more jam was on my pastry slab than inside the cylinder, so I recommend going with about 3/4 cup. It won’t all stay in but lots does.

Jelly rolls are messy to make and eat, and that’s the fun of it.

After rolling up the cylinder, starting with a long side, I sliced it into 9 pieces, but you could make 8 to 10, depending on your preference.

Put them in a baking dish and allow them to rise for about an hour before baking.

Or, if you’re treating this as a make-ahead recipe, you can refrigerate the pan. The next day, allow the rolls to rise for about an hour before baking.

The vanilla cream cheese glaze turned out ridiculously good and took 30 seconds to whip together. I recommend making extra because it makes a wonderful fruit dip.

I used granulated sugar, and although I normally use confectioners’ sugar in frosting and glazes, I wanted to avoid that crunchy phenomenon that happens after powdered sugar glazes are exposed to air. I was so happy when this glaze stayed softer and didn’t crust over. It’s the little things.

If you’re a fan of jelly rolls, cream cheese danish, or any combination of jelly, dough, and cream cheese, you’re going to really enjoy these. The dough is easy to work with and the rolls are soft, tender, and buttery.

They’re loaded with sweet strawberry jam, which adds flavor, sweetness, and moistness. And stickiness.

The scent of bread and strawberry jam wafting through your house while they bake is irresistibly wonderful.

I made them as an overnight option on Saturday night and it was such a treat to wake up and just pop them in the oven for Sunday morning brunch.

Soft, sweet, fluffy rolls filled with strawberry jam and topped with a sweet and tangy cream cheese glaze are my idea of a great morning. The rolls are soft, buttery, tender and can be made as an overnight/make-ahead option so all you have to do in the morning is bake them, pour a cup of coffee, and get ready to enjoy sweet, ooey-gooey, fresh rolls.

Yield: 8 to 10 rolls (in a 9.5-inch pie dish)

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: about 4 hours, mostly downtime

For the Dough
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (plus up to 1/4 cup additional, to be added only if necessary)
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
2 1/4 teaspoons instant dry yeast (one 1/4-ounce packet, I use Red Star Platinum)
pinch salt, optional and to taste
1/2 cup milk (I used Trader Joe's Light Coconut Milk in a can; try buttermilk, cow, goat, almond, soy)

For the Filling
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, very soft - let it sit out while dough rises
about 3/4 cup strawberry preserves or jam (or try another flavor; blueberry, raspberry, peach, apricot)

For the Cream Cheese Glaze
about 3 ounces (about 1/3 cup) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Dough - To the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment (or make and knead by hand using a large mixing bowl; plan to knead for about 10 minutes), combine all ingredients other than milk; set aside. For now, use 2 1/4 cups flour. Note - Use all-purpose flour, or bread flour as a substitute. Do not use whole-wheat, white-whole wheat or any 'wheaty' flours. When people have issues with dough not rising, it's usually because they used whole wheat flour. This recipe was not tested or developed for whole wheat flour.Add milk to a glass measuring cup and warm to temperature, about 45 seconds on high power in the microwave. (Based on the type of yeast used, milk temperatures will vary. Red Star Platinum yeast calls for warmer temperatures than most, 120 to 130F; other brands and yeast call for much lower temperatures, about 95 to 105F. Warm milk according to manufacturer's recommendations on the packaging. Taking the temperature with a digital thermometer is highly recommended, but if you're not, make sure the milk is warm, not hot. Err on the cooler rather than hotter side so you don't kill the yeast.)Pour the milk over the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl and knead on low speed for about 7 minutes (10 minutes by hand). If after 5 minutes dough is very sticky and it seems more flour is needed, add the remaining 1/4 cup flour, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough clears the side of the bowl, but sticking to the bottom is okay. The dough is sticky and tacky, although not excessively so. Don't be tempted to over-flour it. It's supposed to be loose and moist; that's normal. The more flour you add now, the less fluffy and more dense the rolls will be. Dough should clear the sides of the mixer while kneading but sticking to the bottom is fine. If you're kneading by hand, you'll likely need more flour than if kneading via stand mixer. With all bread-making, evaluate your dough and if you deem it necessary to add more flour than I called for given my dry San Diego climate, then do so.After kneading, turn the dough out into a large, greased bowl, cover with plasticwrap, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 2 hours, or until doubled in size. Create a warm environment by preheating your oven for 1 to 2 minutes to 400F, then shutting it off. This creates a 90F-ish warm spot. Slide the bowl in and wait while the yeast works. Just make sure your oven is off. After the dough has doubled, punch it down, turn it out onto a floured surface or Silpat and knead it for about 3 minutes. For the Filling - Spray a 9 or 10-inch pie plate or similar sized baking dish with cooking spray; set aside. With a rolling pin, roll dough into approximately an 18-inch-by-12-inch rectangle, just eyeball it.Add the butter, and spread evenly over the surface.Add the jelly and spread evenly, leaving a small margin near edges.Starting with a long side, roll to form a tight cylinder.Slice the cylinder into 8 to 10 evenly sized pieces (I made 9 pieces, each about 2 inches wide) using a bench scraper, serrated knife, or plain unwaxed dental floss (works great to not squish and compact the log). Jelly will escape out; it's to be expected. Push back in what you can but don't worry about it.Arrange the rolls in the prepared baking pan. Cover with plasticwrap. At this point you can...Either - Allow the rolls to rise in a warm, draft-free place until nearly doubled, about 60 to 75 minutes and then bake. (I use the 400F oven trick for 1 minute again)Or - Refrigerate the rolls for up to 18 hours. This is the Make-Ahead/Overnight Option. Prior to baking, let dough rise in a warm, draft-free place until nearly doubled, about 60 to 75 minutes. (I use the 400F oven trick for 1 minute again)Which ever option you choose, in the last minutes of rising, preheat oven to 350F.Bake at 350F for 25 to 30 minutes, or until lightly golden on top and cooked through. If you notice your rolls are becoming darker before centers are cooking through, covering with foil in the second half of cooking will reduce over-browning, however I did not need to do this, but ovens and dough vary. While rolls bake, make the Cream Cheese Glaze by combing all ingredients in a small bowl and beating until smooth, either with a whisk or a mixer. Play with ratios of all ingredients to suit your tasteAfter baking, generously drizzle glaze over the warm rolls. Serve immediately. Rolls are best eaten fresh, but will keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. Reheat leftover rolls for a few seconds in the microwave before serving. If you object to keeping cream cheese frosting at room temperature, then refrigerate the leftover rolls; I don't. If you have extra unused glaze, it makes an amazing fruit dip; or it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
