It takes mere minutes to blend together this cool, silky-smooth treat. Yogurt adds tang to this light orange-flavored dessert. It's so pretty and refreshing on warm summer days. —Sue Thomas, Casa Grande, Arizona

I started making a recipe like this with two containers (6 oz.) of strawberry yogurt and one 8 oz. whip topping for fruit dip in my catering business. My children would eat any leftovers like the Orange whip dessert. I needed a quick dessert for company so I diced some strawberries to add to the mixture and put it in a graham cracker pie shell and garnished it with additional fanned berries and has been a hit ever since. I also do this with key lime yogurt adding zest of 1 lime and the juice for a light refreshing key lime pie.

Very good and can use the sugar free ...Mandarins in water...Sugar free yogurt..use pure juice which has natural sugars added a little zest and the 95% fat free coolwhip. Nice little low cal for those who want that but lets face it Diabetics have to watch all sugars..Moderation. I have to agree so many people rate a recipe without even trying. Most of us are looking for what people think after they try it.Modify it to suit yourself. Include those in reviews so people can see that the recipe works and help those who have food issues enjoy a nice recipe..

This is a very tasty dish just as written - and yes, it is diabetic friendly as it has a moderated glycemic index taken in the portions as recommended. And to the person who feels I should lose 100 pounds to "cure" my diabetes - if I lost that much I would weigh just 8 pounds - and I would still have diabetes. This is a great recipe for these hot GA days, try it and enjoy!!

Geeze, people just rate the recipe not all the nasty comments are needed. After all, you don't have to try it!! Good.

hooray Doros and kbcookie. People need to get a more positive attitude instead of all the draining negatives. If you don't like it don't make it. As stated it is 'diabetic friendly'. It can be modified to less sugared ingredients. Sounds yummy and refreshing. Can't wait to make it.

REALLY? did anyone even try this recipe? I'm so tired of all this 'diabetic friendly' crap. How about you, or your 'diabetic' family member lose 100 pounds and then go and get your blood sugar tested. I bet you won't be diabetic any more. When I click on reviews, I want to see what people thought of the TASTE of the recipe and what little changes they would make to make it TASTE better. I'm going to try it, and I think I might even have 2 bowls of it.

to lilaccrew: read the comments above the recipe again. it states plainly "DIAETIC FRIENDLY" maybe you should stick to the recipe and not be making these catty remarks. i read the comments to get more input on the recipe and not the remarks some of you people make!!!

Reviewed on Jun. 13, 2013 by kbcookie

To lilaccrew, yes, it does say diabetic friendly just under the recipe description. I suppose it could be made with diabetic friendly ingredients - sugar free yogurt, sugar free whipped topping ... don't know about the oranges and juice - anyway, it does sound quite delicious. I might just have to give it a try.

Interesting comment since no where does it say 'diabetic friendly'. Maybe you should search specifically for those recipes and not criticize other recipes. This is fantastic! And versatile, it could be used a a dip or frosting or eaten alone! Love it!

This recipe is NOT diabetic friendly. There is sugar in ALL ingredients.
